Before entering the third quarter of 2024, Community Volunteers of Educo Philippines based in Catanduanes had a refresher, re-orientation of their roles and responsibilities, and revisiting of their tasks in implementing deliverables through an action planning activity held at Twin Rock Resort last May 20-21, 2024.

The convention also served as an avenue for conducting feedback from thirty-eight Community Volunteers from the municipality of Caramoran on Child Rights and Well-being (CRWB) rollout sessions with parents. Good practices such as parents’ active participation, increased knowledge of CRWB, and strong support from barangay councils, among many others, were also evidently observed. The observed good practices led them to craft simulations as they prepare for the upcoming rollout sessions on CRWB, for children this time, targeted to happen in the third quarter of 2024; such timeline will also serve as the artwork activity by the sponsored children of Educo Philippines.

Mardy Bueno, a new community volunteer, expressed her eagerness to join her fellows as they aid in implementing projects in the coming quarter.

(I’m happy to be one of the community volunteers of our village. I learned a lot [from this activity]. I’m still navigating my ways of facilitating, but you can count on me to improve and be more active as a community volunteer)

Another community volunteer also expressed gratitude to Educo Philippines for helping the marginalized.

Sobrang pasalamat po kami sa Educo sa walang sawang suporta at pagtulong at pagbibigay ng ibat-ibang proyekto sa mga kabataan, mga magulang at community volunteer,” Rosalie Indico, one of the volunteers added.

(We are very grateful to Educo for its undying support and help and for providing various projects to young people, parents, and community volunteers)

Meanwhile, the said volunteers also had an orientation on Project SAFE (Strengthening Accountability for Girls and Boys in DRRM Situation in Catanduanes) and its upcoming activities in ten target communities this June 2024.
