Subject:  Memorandum 002 on CO Operations in connection with COVID-19

This pertains to the COVID-19 pandemic, as classified by the World Health Organization. Provisions stipulated under Memorandum 001, dated March 13, 2020, remain in effect with the following amendments:

Applicable Mandates and Policies:

3. Amended as: WHO PHL Situation Report #6 dated 16 March 2020

 Guidelines on Travel and Self- Quarantine:

  1. Amended as: Educo staff whose permanent home is based outside of Albay or Sorsogon are strongly encouraged to return to permanent residence and request for work from home approval. If staff voluntarily would like to continue reporting to the CO, People & Culture Unit must have this decision forwarded in writing.

Guidelines on Program Implementation:

  1. Added as: Staff who are temporarily relocated to Manila under an approved work from home scheme may from time to time be requested to attend any mission critical meetings related to COVID-9 national coordination and/or other meetings necessary for the smooth continuity of Educo Philippines operations.
  2. Added as: Program staff are expected to maintain regular communication with the communities, schools (if open), volunteers, agencies, and LGUs under your area of work. Ensure you provide information to the OIC Program Manager and Operations Manager regarding any updates or concerns related to COVID-19. Staff are required to be vigilant and ensure Educo Philippines is able to monitor the status of our sponsored children and communities at ALL times.

Added as: Guidelines to Staff Care:

  1. Consider preparing and bringing food/ lunch from home instead of buying from food stations/stalls to ensure proper food preparation and handling.
  2. Stay healthy by maintaining a balanced diet and getting enough sleep.
  3. Stay at home if you are sick; Encourage a colleague to stay home if you have noticed they are sick or not feeling well (re-classified under this new guideline).
