With over 25 years of extensive and rich experience in the development sector, Marlon Villanueva sits as the new Country Director of Educo Philippines.
Marlon, as he is known to many, primary leans an expertise in management and technical specialist roles in projects, and focus niches on Organizational Development, Community Engagement and Mobilization, System Strengthening, Public health Programs and Social Behavior Change (SBCC) initiatives.
He recently served as the organization’s Director of Programs of Educo Philippines but pior to the said engagements, he predominantly worked with several International Non-Governmental Organizations such as World Vision International, World Health Organization (WHO), Adventist Development Relief Agency (ADRA), and Family Health International (FHI360) which spanned multiple countries, including Papua New Guinea, Sudan, Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands, Sudan, and the Philippines.
His skill set encompasses a wide range of competencies including Management, Program Development, Communication and Marketing, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL), Community Systems Strengthening (CSS), Communications and Advocacy, Public-Private or Corporate Social Responsibility.
Throughout his career, He has successfully led multi-million budget program/grant implementations with diverse funding portfolios from multilateral, bilateral, and international agencies/donors, including the Global Fund, Child Fund Korea, KOICA, UNICEF, DFAT, CIDA, EU, Bill and Melinda Gates, and JICA.
Regarded as a highly sought-after Leader, Consultant, Trainer, and Technical Adviser, he brings forth a wealth of experience garnered from working in various contexts across different countries.
