On December 12, 2024, Educo Philippines, together with the Departments of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and the five key municipalities of Caramoran (Catanduanes), Manito (Albay), Castilla, Donsol, and Pilar (Sorsogon), officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to expand Project SAGIP, an initiative aimed at eliminating child labor in the region in partnership with the Project SHIELD of DSWD and Child Labor Prevention and Elimination Program of Department of Labor and Employment.
This strategic collaboration underscores the shared commitment of all parties to protect vulnerable children and ensure their access to education, social services, and a safe environment. Project Sagip II seeks to address the root causes of child labor through comprehensive prevention, rehabilitation, and community empowerment efforts.
Through the combined efforts of local governments, national agencies, and Educo Philippines, this project is a crucial step forward in creating safer environments for children across these municipalities. Together, they aim to address the root causes of child labor and taking significant action to safeguard the future of our most vulnerable sector of children.
This collaborative approach proves that Educo Philippines can create a lasting change and help build a future where no child has to work for a living.
