As Educo continues its rally towards inclusive, quality, and transformative education, its country office in the Philippines continues to work hand in hand with schools to ensure that every child receives equitable education.
In November 2023, Educo Philippines joined the Department of Education as it launched Project 6B: Bawat Batang Bicolano Bihasang Bumasa at Bumilang, a multi-sectoral project that was primarily aimed to improve the literacy and numeracy of Bicolano learners.
Prior to that, in the first quarter of the aforementioned year, Educo Philippines has already been distributing alphabet tracing and activity worksheets and launched mobile applications to aid learners; these efforts are made under the Project KCiE (Keeping Children in School under the New Normal). In addition, during brigada eskwela, the organization has been proactive in distributing learning and reading materials to schools a week prior to the opening of every school year.
DepEd gave a plaque of recognition to honor the “invaluable contribution, commitment, and support [of Educo Philippines] in the successful implementation of the Project 6B: Bawat Batang Bicolano Bihasang Bumasa at Bumilang” – a multi stakeholder approach in improving the literacy and numeracy of Bicolano learners thereby generating additional resources and volunteers towards improving the quality of public education.” This was received by Educo Philippines’ Country Director, Gemma Castillo-Goliat.
During the awarding, the organization continued one of its advocacy works in education by distributing free notebooks, ballpens, reading books, and other materials inclined to help teachers and other learning facilitators improve their strategies in teaching and knowledge sharing.
