Advocating strongly for her fellow children and their rights, Marinhel Cha, one of Educo Philippines Child Representatives served as a resource speaker at the 3rd Albay Children Summer Camp last June 26, 2024, held in Santo Domingo, Albay.

Speaking in front of more than fifty child leaders in the province of Albay, Marinhel reiterated the importance of child participation, and how important and powerful children are when it comes to facilitating programs covering child participation.

On the other hand, Jaypee Mapula, Educo PH Area Manager for Albay and Sorsogon, tackled topics on leadership in the context of children and their rights to participation. He rallied for the inclusion of children in discussions while emphasizing the significance of empowering them to take initiative and make meaningful contributions in their respective communities.

“An effective leadership means creating an environment where children feel valued, heard, and capable of influencing decisions that affect the children,” Mapula said in his discussion.

The children summer camp is aimed to promote the pivotal role children play in shaping their own futures and communities. The event served as a powerful reminder on how imperative the children are in conversations concerning their rights and future.

Educo Philippines continues in proactively advocates for child participating through linkages with other agencies to reach more children. By such, a future can be created where every child is empowered.
